The Dunwoody Soap Box Derby is open to boys and girls ages 8-17 who reside in DeKalb, Gwinnett, Rockdale, Clayton or Henry County.
Two divisions of racing will be offered for the competition:

The Stock division is for ages 8-13, Drivers can be up to 5’3” and 125 pounds. The car is sold as a kit and includes everything needed for racing with the exception of Z-Glas racing wheels and weights, which are ordered separately. The body comes in a choice of red, white or blue. Builders should allow 4-6 hours for assembly. |

The Super Stock division is for ages 10-17, and can accommodate drivers up to 6’0” tall and approximately 150 pounds. The Super Stock car is sold as a kit and includes everything needed for racing with the exception of Z-Glas wheels and weights. The Super Stock body can be painted, and the kit can be assembled in 4-6 hours. |
CAR BUYING INSTRUCTION GUIDE:
Please be advised that the following is intended to guide you through the process of purchasing a car to participate in the Dunwoody Soap Box Derby scheduled for May 30th.
The Dunwoody Race will consist of 2 divisions of racing. Stock and Super Stock. 12 cars are needed for each division, for that division to become sanctioned. The Stock division is for ages 8-13, Drivers can be up to 5’3” and 125 pounds. The Super Stock division is for ages 10-17, and can accommodate drivers up to 6’0” tall and approximately 150 pounds. In both cases, the eligible drivers must reside in DeKalb, Gwinnett, Rockdale, Clayton or Henry County. They must participate in the car construction along with an adult advisor/assistant.
For the Dunwoody Race we currently have 9 cars ordered and being built for Stock and about 8 other potential car owners indicating high interest to order, build and participate. For Super Stock we have 10 cars ordered and being built with about 6 other potential car owners indicating high interest in participation.
As of March 19th here is the latest in pricing and availability of cars. Please note a 10% discount is running to the end of the month. If you are going to participate with a car it is strongly advised to order the car before the end of the month to receive the discount, and participate in car clinics that will be scheduled in April and early May.

Latest “Stock” Pricing and Availability: With the exception of Green colored cars, all Stock cars are back ordered till April 1. If you place your order now, you will still receive the March discount and the order will be shipped the week of April 1st. This will still give you plenty of time to build, and compete, and participate in the April car clinic.
The price for a white stock car with white wheels is as follows: $430 for body and kit, $110 for white racing wheels. Total $540 less 10% discount = $486.00. Shipping to 30338 ($47.58). Total Stock Price: $533.58.
If ordering black wheels deduct $10.
Latest “Super Stock” Pricing and Availability: Super Stocks are in and ready to ship. The price for Super Stock is $465 for body and kit, $110 for white racing wheels. Total $575 less 10% discount = $517.50. Shipping to 30338 is $87.60. Total Super Stock Price: $605.10.
If ordering black wheels deduct $10.

By doing so you will also receive information on car clinics, how to register your driver for the race, and information on getting logos and race decals for your car. Your car is a one time purchase and can be used for racing, and many unique promotional purposes for several years.
