The Dunwoody Soap Box Derby is open to boys and girls ages 8-17 who reside in Clayton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Henry or Rockdale County.
Three divisions of racing will be offered for the competition:

The Stock division is for ages 8-13, Drivers can be up to 5’3” and 125 pounds. The car is sold as a kit and includes everything needed for racing with the exception of Z-Glas racing wheels and weights, which are ordered separately. The body comes in a choice of red, white or blue. Builders should allow 4-6 hours for assembly. |

The Super Stock division is for ages 10-17, and can accommodate drivers up to 6’0” tall and approximately 150 pounds. The Super Stock car is sold as a kit and includes everything needed for racing with the exception of Z-Glas wheels and weights. The Super Stock body can be painted, and the kit can be assembled in 4-6 hours. |
The Super Kids Race is for kids ages 8-17 and will take place on Friday, June 4 on the same hill used by Stock and Super Stock drivers. The cars are specially built by volunteers and are designed to accommodate both the Super Kid as well as a driver.
CAR BUYING INSTRUCTION GUIDE:
Please be advised that the following is intended to guide you through the process of purchasing a car to participate in the Dunwoody Soap Box Derby scheduled for Saturday, June 5.
Saturday's Race will consist of 2 divisions of racing. Stock and Super Stock. 12 cars are needed for each division, for that division to become sanctioned.
The Stock division is for ages 8-13, Drivers can be up to 5’3” and 125 pounds. The Super Stock division is for ages 10-17, and can accommodate drivers up to 6’0” tall and approximately 150 pounds. In both cases, the eligible drivers must reside in DeKalb, Gwinnett, Rockdale, Clayton or Henry County. They must participate in the car construction along with an adult advisor/assistant.
